Lily C. - February 2019

Lily got a jump on her health and fitness in October 2018, so we’re only into our fifth month of working together, but this woman is a force to be reckoned with.

Like most of my clients these days, this self-employed, full-time nanny discovered Strong Like Her on Yelp. She was searching for some assistance to kick start her workouts again when life and work had become all consuming. She liked the idea of scheduled accountability, “me time” to use as an outlet for stress and anxiety when she was feeling overwhelmed and run down. Plus, Lily wanted to get involved with weight training again. (A girl after my own heart.)

I want to live a long life and do whatever is thrown my way, instead of being scared. That used to be me, and that's not who I am anymore.

Lily accomplished so much on her own before she ever became a Strong Like Her client. She had lost 80 pounds over a year and a half of focused consistency with healthy eating and walking, which progressed to running, then gradually incorporating weight lifting.

As a trainer, it’s always great to work with someone who is coachable, open-minded, trusting and patient. Knowing that Lily had already shown immense dedication to her health prior to our meeting shows a lot about her character, as well as her values. But, like everyone, she continues on with her journey of self-discovery.

I want people to know that anything is possible, but it doesn't come easy. I've always struggled with my weight and my relationship with food. My weight continues to fluctuate, and my emotions are still affected by life, but training keeps me on track living and breathing a healthy lifestyle. Looking great, and feeling great, are two completely different entities. These days I want to feel great.

Lily regularly participants in our [voluntary] monthly client challenges and shows incredible persistence in her efforts to do better and be better. She’s achieved many personal records (i.e. PR’s) in our short time together, including the infamous box jumps. Her strength and conditioning have greatly improved and she moves with an amazing sense of body awareness.
